10 Questions for Jackie Chan - TIME.com

What was the most difficult stunt you've performed in a movie?
Robert Quach, DALLAS
The shopping-mall scene in Police Story where I jumped onto the chandelier and slid down 75 ft. (23 m). There was no protection. [After landing] I had to get up, grab the bad guy and punch him, all in one shot. That stunt was like suicide.

What was it like beating up Jet Li in The Forbidden Kingdom? In a real fight, who would win?
Wong Mei Fern, KUALA LUMPUR
In a real fight, I would let him win. He's my younger brother. Beating Jet was very fun. Sometimes he helped me, sometimes I helped him. When the cut was finished, I'd still give him two punches and he'd still block me, then he'd give me a kick and I'd block him. It was like sparring.

LIGHTS! CAMERA! OUCH! Jackie Chan has suffered cuts, bruises, fractures
and multiple concussions to stay at the top of Asia's cinematic
firmament. Several times he has nearly died. "I've broken bones from my
skull to my toes," says the 41-year-old action star with a shrug and a
slight twitch of that unmistakable pug nose. "But broken legs and
fingers don't matter. I hurt for a few weeks or months, but my films
give people memories that can keep for a hundred years."

TO KUNG FU THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

HE"S JUMPED off the top of buildings, hung from a flying helicopter, had a fight with Bruce Lee, and broken every bone in his body - all to "put the comedy" into his films.  Jackie Chan explains his strange idea of fun.

One night in Hong Kong, three teenage boys are aimlessly wandering the streets of Kowloon when they come across six men on motorcycles.  They are very impressed.  Wow! they think, what great motorcycles!  They look more closely, and one of the bikers stares them down, "What the fuck," he asks, "do you think you're looking at?"

Jackie Chan the man

Chan The Man

Hollywood's toughest actor knows how to break chops, kick ass and make money!

At a castle in rural Yugoslavia, movie hero Jackie Chan stands atop a 40-foot parapet, ready to leap to the branch of an adjacent tree. AT this point in your standard Hollywood production, the director would yell "cut," and the star would return to his trailer for some catered lobster while a stuntman did the leaping. But this star is different: Chan, the sinuous ebullient Hong Kong Actor who has become tyhe idol of millions, always does his own stunts.

With its domed towers reminiscent of an ancient church, the old Museum building in suburban Brisbane looks innocent enough from the outside. Brewing inside however are plots of murder, violence and mayhem. Not to mention comedy. For a few days, this derelict building which once held the collected wisdom of the Sunshine state's scientifiv knowledge, is playing host to Jackie Chan., Hong Kong's one truly international superstar, and his latest film production, "The Story of CIA".

Jackie Chan Who am I

Who Am I?

He's rumbled in the Bronx, first struck in the former Soviet Union and been a nice guy down under. Now Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan has hit the dark continent for his next international actioner, Who am I?, which is being shot in sync-sound English by a cult Chinese helmer Benny Chan. Chan is best known to British fans for the Andy Lau masterpiece Moment of Romance, but local Hong Kong audiences are still raving about his cops & robbers thriller Big Bullet. That film featured British martial arts actor Mike Lambert, who previously worked with Chan in Thunderbolt, Van Damne in  The Quest and Jet Li in Black Mask. Lambert was also flown out to the sunny South African locations of Who am I? to both play a role and perform stunts in Chan's lastest blockbuster.
