Jackie is famous all over the world for his movies, but also for his impressing charity work. He's not the usual movie star like we find them in Hollywood – Jackie's different! Since the year 1988 Jackie Chan's been funding foundations and he supports many schools and their students to help educating people. He also financially supports hospitals to finance hospital-equipment which is needed.
Jackie's also got his own clothes-label and sells these clothes by auctions. He's got his own shoe-brand, t-shirts, jackets, pullovers, sweatshirts, underwear, caps etc. and by selling them again he can support the needy.
The most popular foundation started by Jackie Chan's called "The Dragon's Heart Foundation". With the help of this foundation he collects money from all over the world and builds schools in China. He's already built more than 20 schools all over China. To Jackie, education is the most important thing to help decreasing poverty. Whenever he goes to China to do charity work, he talks to the needy people there and their stories and fates make him cry. He's truly touched by the people, who often can only afford 1 pant for themselves for a very long time. Many of them don't even have anything to wear because they just cannot afford it.
To help those poor people, he's always looking out for help from all over the world with a one-dollar donation to his "Dragon's Heart Foundation" to build up schools. For Jackie, education and schools help make life better and get out of poverty.
His next famous foundation's called "The Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation" and this foundation offers scholarships and active help to the young people in Hong Kong. But throughout the years the foundation has grown and broadened. Now it also includes medical help and aid to victims of natural catastrophes.
